The Secular Icons.                                 Venue: Axis Arts Centre, Ballymun, Dublin, Ireland. 2017

This is a body of work that was made over eleven years consisting small-scale paintings in  the style of icons. The themes are secular versions of the subject matter of Byzantine icons, such as ethics, the ideal family and how to live a moral life. In the 21st century most people get information  and instruction from the TV and the Internet in the form of advertising. This exhibition casts a critical eye over consumerism, body image and examines contemporary society.
